"Yeah and get comfortable now, because that motel room is far from it. You will die of boredom faster than if we got bored and tried to kill you."

Allison was still grumpy that she had to return to the motel room. Even if they had picked up a total stranger, she was still really bored. She never thought the day would come that she actually wanted to come face to face with a demon. Ally looked out the window from her seat and watched as a blur of car lights and store neons flashed by in a blur of color. It reminded her of how her life was going. It was going by fast, blurred, but always moving forward. She thought that maybe that was the problem for her boredom. She had ridden the fast track for so long that it had become daily routine. Maybe she needed a time to calm down and then jump back in. She would never raise the question to her brother. It would be completely selfish and wrong of her.

Pulling her eyes from those of the tall man, she looked instead to the figure of the other person inhabiting the car. It was a girl, around her own age and seemingly in a bad mood. Iris shifted slightly in the seat, unsure of what she should respond with. She knew these people meant her no harm. They had just salvaged her from where she had been, so she knew she should at least attempt to be polite. "Oh." she spoke softly, silently angry with herself for the short reply. "Where is the motel?" she tagged, trying to make up for her shortcoming.

"Five short minutes from hell."

Allison meant as far as boredom went. It only took her five minutes to get bored while there. It was late enough now for her at least to be able to just take a shower and go to sleep, which was about the only thing in the past month that kept her occupied. A thought passed through her mind that she was sounding probably pretty off-standish and overly sarcastic to her newly invited guest so she turned to her with a smile.

"I'm Allison and my brother who is driving is Logan. You can call me Ally and him Loey!"

"Loey" was the new nickname that Allison had given her brother in favor of the one that he had given her just recently. She didn't mind the shortened name "Alley", but she still wasn't all that used to it.

Logan made a 'what?' face to himself.

"Call me Logan. And the Motel is right up here."

Logan pointed to a building down the street. The rain battered against windshield, and Logan found himself thinking about his life. Everything has gone for the worst. Logan had no belief in a god if there was one, to him all that there was was evil, and people like him were the only ones that could help. Logan knew how tired of this life he was, but he had to save people. Logan carried a massive weight on his shoulders. His father was missing Ally's developing "abilities", and this growing demon threat. Logan just wanted to start his next hunt so he could take his mind off of things. They pulled into the motel parking lot. Logan got out and pulled the front seat forward so the girl could get out.

"Need help?" Logan reached his hand to the girl.

Iris smiled to herself slightly at Allys playful comment. Though it wasnt something someone could see with the naked eye, she could feel the bond between these two. They seemed so different from each other, but still, they belonged. Like peices in a jigsaw. The more she saw this bond, this belonging, the more she loved it, and at the same time, was almost jealous. Waking up on the forest floor, with nothing more than pounding head aches and an unatural gift, she had been more of a burden to those around her than anything. She remembered feeling releif on a few seperate occasions that she could be useful. It was her way of trying to earn the right to stay.

She could see it wasnt the same between these too.

Iris was drug out of her thoughts as the car stopped in an unfamiliar place. Her emerald eyes lingered on the surroundings, and she thought back to the alley that was also, unfamiliar. She actually had no real memory of how she had gotten there. Just the pain. It blocked out all else.

Click. Her eyes shifted forward at the sound of the seat unlocking itself and sliding forward. It opened a space, large enough for her to climb out, yet before she could, the masculine voice of Logan reached her ears, "Need help?" and his hand was extended before her. Glancing from his palm, to his face, she was a little surprised. They didn't know her. She was some complete stranger they had found unconcious in the alley, yet they were helping her in every way they could. It almost made her feel guilty, and she hoped she wasn't being a burden as she placed her hand in his. Her emerald eyes lingered at his face.

Before getting out of the car herself, Allison waited for their guest. She watched the small reaction the girl had from Logan and had to fight to stifle a laugh. She regained her composure and got out of the car and shut the door behind her and walked up next to the girl.
"Well here we are. Five short minutes from hell."

She turned her head a bit to smile at the girl letting her know she was joking and just being facetious.

"Sorry, you will get used to it. I'm very sarcastic."

She let her eyes drift off of his face with a slight effort, and turned to Allison, smiling despite herself. Though her humor was a little different, and kind of negative, it made her smile all the same. She could tell she was going to like Allison.

She was surprised to realize that, outside the car it was still raining, pattering down on her head just as it had in the alley way. She shrank into herself, as if this motion would shelter her anymore from the rain. As anyone could see, it did not.

"Come on. You obviously need a bath, some clean clothes and probably something to eat." Allison lead the girl up the stairs to the motel and stopped in the middle of the small room. "Alright what is first? Bath, Clothes, or Food? I think food first." She walked over to her bed which was cluttered with magazines,cosmetics, and clothes and some food. She rummaged around in a large over night bag until she found some chips and a Gatorade. She tossed them both to the girl. "Here. Eat up. That's 5 star food compared to anything else in this town."

Logan slid past the two girls and began as quickly and quietly as he could, shove his papers, maps, and his dad's journal into a large bag. Logan tunred and closed Ally's laptop, which was open to a site about local obituaries and odd occurences in this area. They couldn't let this stranger see what they were, she'd run, or just think they were plain nuts.

"Give her a sec to catch her breath sis. She's probably still a little nervous with complete strangers. Don't worry sweetheart, we-," Logan cut off for a second as his eyes and this girls eyes locked, "-are all about serving and protecting."

Logan turned around and began packing the bag away. The girl's eyes lingered in his thoughts for a moment. The girl was cute, and her eyes bore right into you. Almost unnaturally. She kind of reminded him of Ally, in a whole not-related-to-me-attractive way. Logan was a little cautious when people reminded him of Ally, after all, Ally wasn't the only one with "abilities".

Iris felt her cheeks flame up in a sudden surge of scarlet when his stream of words stopped for that second and he had caught her gaze. It wasn't something she was familiar with. Her eyes very easily caught attention of course, but there was an intensity in this one that turned her stomach, almost as if he had read her.

She dropped her eyes to the floor as he turned, the potato chips and gatorade still in hand. To distract her thoughts from that frozen moment, she very gently twisted open the lip to the bottle and sipped from it, feeling a little clearer after the first drink had been washed down. Silently, she was thankful for this. Her body always felt foggy and unclear after she had one of her..'episodes', but the added energy from the drink seemed to give her an extra kick and it helped her mind clear. "Thank you." she said softly, her eyes going to window in a strain to avoid the mans face. Whatever had happened moments ago, she wasnt sure if it was good to let it happen again.

Allison couldn't hold it in any longer. She started laughing, it was small but still present. She gave Logan a knowing look and excused herself to the small kitchen to grab a drink that she had been cooling for herself. She brought it back and traded it with the girl. "Here, take this instead. It's cold." She took the gatorade that the girl had been holding and placed it back in the bag and found some clothes that had just been washed. "You look to be about my size although shorter, so I hope you don't mind shorts. My Jeans would be too long on you."

Logan rolled his eyes at his sister, but allowed himself a crooked smile to break through. Logan turned and something caught his eye. It was one of his guns, lying next to a bag of salt. How would he explain that.

"Hey Ally, could you put that bag of salt away in the kitchen." Logan made a signal to his sis, she would know what he was talking about. The salt wouldn't be that suspicious, but the gun, that's a different story. Logan walked over to the girl, who was looking out the window, to keep her attention while Ally put the gun away.

"So," Logan said looking out the window, "how are you holding up?"

She bit her lip softly. Very carefully, she kept her eyes on the window before her. She was unsure of her gaze now. Many people, when she looked at them for any period of time, felt the same intimidation or intensity she was sure he had moments ago. The power of her own eyes. For the sake of their safety, and probably hers, it was better they didn't know.

"Im alright." she answered, clutching the cold drink as if in support. "I owe you, both of you." This was sincere. God only knew what would have happened to her had they not come along. In the cold rain, she probably would have caught pnemonia. There wasn't much chance she would have survived after a night like that. It was good fortune that they had found her. "I'm Iris by the way."

Allison nodded and grabbed both the salt and the gun with a dish rag that she had been holding in her hands allowing it to veil over the gun. She had a gun herself although it was just a simple banishing one nothing like her brothers. She preferred different means of execution. She hated the feel of the cool metal of a gun. It always made her feel like a murderer even though technically she was just giving the death sentence. She sighed and placed the gun on top of the fridge. She and her brother could easily reach it, but the girl looked to be too short to be able to reach it. Allison pushed it back a bit so that it couldn't be seen unless someone just happened to stand up on the counter tops. As she walked back into the living room she gave her brother a sarcastic grin. "You know, you really should keep food in the kitchen, we might get ants." Of course this did not at all match up with the fact that there were in a run down motel with more to worry about than ants.

"Well it's nice to meet ya Iris. Obviously, I'm Logan Winchester."

Logan extended his hand to her. Logan noticed her readjust herself upon hearing "Winchester" kinda as if she recognized it. Which was odd, Logan and Ally always used false names when investigating a case. They had hundreds of fake ID cards, giving them the ID of pretty much any ranking government official. They looked old enough to play the part.

Logan looked back at the girl, who was still looking out the window. Logan follwed a strand of her hair as it fell from behind her ear and over her face.

Logan returned his attention to the girl, "and don't mention it. It's what we do." Logan smiled.

Allison corrected him with a laugh. "Yes, it's a fond hobby of ours to pick up complete strangers in alley ways and treat them." She smiled at the girl again and then turned her attention to her brother. She had just received a text from their uncle that he would probably want to hear about. "Our uncle just wanted you to know that Charlie is in town." It was completely coded. "Charlie" was a term that referred to the Vietnam war and in their case a nasty demon. She continued to describe the text in the most casual tone. "He said that the family is visiting as well." There was more than one demon was translated. "Oh and he said that we have to be quiet at night since the baby will be sleeping if we go to visit." They are very dangerous at night and will be awake and ready to attack was the last part of the message.

As the hand was extended, she knew she had to turn now. It would be rude not to. She could already feel his eyes on her face as she shifted her gaze, her vibrant green eyes leaving the window and landing once again on the face of Logan...Winchester. Placing her hand in his, almost exactly as she had earlier, she could almost hear the untruth it in. More so see it.

Reaching up, Iris tucked the black strand of black hair behind her ear. Now, with her eyes already on his, it was hard to look away. It had been kind of like this with many of the others she had met when she was taken in my Reese. They had all had stories. Prominent ones that had pulled at her mind. Logans, however, felt slightly different. Stronger in ways. She didnt look away.

Logan smiled as he looked in the girl's eyes. Something seemed like it was trying to jump out of those emerald eyes and make it's way through Logan's mind. Logan didn't look away from her until a few moments after Ally read the message. Logan cussed in his head, but put on a fake smile.

"Great! Tell Bobby," which was the real name of their uncle. Their uncle is the only family they have left , "that depending on how long we're staying," which was code for, 'if we're ready', "we'll go visit them. Oh and I need more supplies for Uncle Colt." Logan meant that he needed more special bullets for his gun The Colt.

He turned, and whatever spell had cuased her to linger there, suddenly broke and she dropped her eyes away from his face and back towards the window. Her blush didnt fail to taint her ivory toned cheeks, and opening the drink in her hands, she swallowed a few sips in an effort to pull her mind out of this...whatever it was.

Suddenly, she was longing for a hot shower. The steam and heat seemed perfectly ideal for her soaked skin and possibly clouded mind. Gazing out the window, she let herself drift to that, and it helped, even if only a little.

"Oh that's right. Hey..." Ally paused for a second trying to remember the girl's name. She sucked at names. It was a flower..."I..Iris! If you want you can go take a shower. Here, I'll grab you some clean clothes." She fetched the shorts and t-shirt that she had taken out of her bag and handed it to her.

"If you need, I can have logan run to the store and get you a tooth brush or something. I don't think you would want to borrow a used one."

She took the clothes, smiling again at Ally. The smile was calm, or tired, looking slight across her face. "Thank you, but I wouldnt want to trouble you.." she said, turning in the direction that she assumed the shower might be in. "Where am I going exactly?" she asked, slightly sheepishly.

Logan walked her over to the bathroom. Logan looked at Iris, "Are you sure you don't want me to? It'll be no trouble at all." Logan smiled. He looked for any excuse to drive his baby. Plus, Logan didn't have to be TOO concerned being away from Ally. She was a highly skilled fighter like himself.

Allison held back from a sarcastic remark. They were in a cramped two room hotel. One for the bathroom and one for the beds and adjoining kitchen. There really wasn't much room to get lost in. Although, Iris seemed timid and still shaken up so she didn't blame her.

"It's right through there." She pointed through a door and waited for Iris to leave and for the shower to turn on. When it did she turned back to Logan.
"I think you misunderstood Bobby. When he said here in town...he meant here."

She pointed to the door meaning that the demons were probably only a couple of miles off.

"I'll tell him that you need more ammo, but I seriously doubt that you are going to have time to get to his house and back here before tomorrow night. If those demons don't know we are here already, they will for sure by tomorrow. I think you are going to have to just deal with out your gun this time around."

Following him, she kept her eyes from his face for fear they would somehow get trapped there again. "Well.." she said, almost to herself more than to him, "If it really is no trouble.." she murmered, letting the sentence trail off. She felt a little bit of guilt for letting them do so much for her. She only wished she had something in return, but that was an unrealistic fantasy. The only things she possessed would be her own clothing and half of that was back at the apartment Reese and the others were currently staying at.

She turned into the bathroom, leaving with that as her answer, and at a lance glance to his face, she gave him a returning smile before closing the door and proceeding to the shower.
