"Mmhmm." Allison just nodded and flopped down on her bed thinking about the past. If it wasn't for her dad being taken she would have just said screw it to all the fighting. She enjoyed the excitement of it, but it was still hard to ever maintain any sort of relationship when you were dealing with her area of work. She could just picture a conversation with someone on a date. "What do you do?" and she would just answer casually, "Oh I exorcise demons and make sure they don't turn our home into the 7th layer of hell. How is your roast beef?" Yeah. That would go over well if they didn't send her to the loony bin.

-You guys are shoving me off on your uncle?? Thanks. So much. xD -

She walked out of the bathroom, turning her head in time to see the door shut behind Logans back. It calmed her slightly. At least she wouldnt have to keep her mind completely focused on not looking at his face. She shook her head slightly at this, as if to brush the through from the fabric of her mind. The pull on Logan, the pull of her eyes was a little hard to ignore, especially with Ally cracking up every time she slipped up, but she could manage better if she just didnt tempt herself. If she kept her eyes away from his figure. In the small motel room, however, that wasn't exactly easy.

Making her way to the couch, Iris sat in the corner, near the arm and pulled her feet up. She was a little worn from the days events, but not exactly sleepy yet, so raking her hand through her dark hair, she gave herself a moment to calm down and think. To let the happenings of the day sort themselves out.

Reese was no where to be found. She couldnt feel his presence. Usually, when Reese was looking for someone, or calling her somewhere, he would reach out, with a strange type of mind power that was impossible not to feel. But, since the alley, Iris had felt nothing from him. Also, she had no clue where in the world she was. With this thought, her eyes shifted to the window. She could be anywhere. It struck her then just how grateful to Ally and Logan she really should be. With Reese abandoning her, she would have no where to go, and it was pure luck that they had been crazy or kind enough to let her in their home. It gave her a feeling of guilt. She bit her lip, and letting her eyes leave the window, looked at Ally instead. "Im sorry."

"Sorry about what? That we brought you to this cheap run down motel? Oh my. Shouldn't we be the ones to say sorry then? I feel sorry for anyone who has to live in this dump."

She was only joking. The motel that they were staying in was one of many that they had staked out across the map for quick getaways and hide outs. Some places were fancier than others and then again some places were like the place where they were staying at now. Her favorite hide out was the cabin in the woods which is where they would probably be heading too next.

Allison sighed though and rolled over on the bed to face Iris. "You don't need to be sorry. If you resent or feel sorry about anything in your life, then you are just wasting time. You should know that no matter what happens the only thing you can do is keep going. If you stop and feel sorry for yourself, that isn't going to get you anywhere. You just have to accept everything that comes your way and instead of rejecting it you should embrace it."

-Tch. Liar.-

Iris blinked, she was unfocused at the moment, but still, just looking at her face she could faintly feel the sincerity. It took her off guard for a moment. She hadn't expected that.

Pulling her legs in tighter, she answered in a slightly softer tone, she wasnt really proud of what she had to say, "I dont really have anything." she admitted. It was mostly the truth. All she did have were her eyes. It was the only thing that gave her any bit of reason to live, and she even doubted that at times. The good she could do was severly outweighted by the bad. Still, she wanted a reason to be alive. She had no desire for death.

*Haha. When I have ever lied to you?*

Allison sat up in a crisscross position and sighed. "Then doesn't that give you all the more reason to live? Have you ever heard of the saying if you meet the Buddha, kill the buddha. If you meet your father, kill your father. Free of everything you are bound by nothing. The worst feeling in the world if dying and having no one to have benefited from your life. Yet, isn't that all the more reason to live because it gives you a mission to accomplish before you die. Those who pity themselves will die. And that is the fact. Those who deal with life and live through it will strive." With that, Allison rolled back over in the bed clutching a pillow hiding her own tears. She could barely even live with that. She had everything to lose, but during times when it was needed she couldn't let her emotions get in the way. That was the worst about having people close to you. It was the feeling of them being taken away.

Iris gave no reply. She didnt have one. She understood what Ally had meant in what she said, but she still felt the same emptiness in her life that had eaten away at her since waking up. She was without possessions and without love. She had no family like Ally and Logan. For that, she very much envied them, but at the same time, she was happy that they had each other. Someone to talk to or laugh with. Cry with. Sliding her legs across the couch and laying her back down, she knew that Reese was never that person for her. Mostly, she was a tool that he used when he saw fit. She had accepted that early on. She couldnt ask for more, and even now, she felt bad for wishing for it. Closing her eyes, she pushed it out of her head, trying to think of anything but her self pity.

Logan looked through his stuff, everything was where it should be. All his guns and tools were cleaned and working. All his equipment was there and accounted for.

Logan slammed the trunk door down and turned toward the motel. He didn't feel like going inside right now. SO Logan leaned against the Impala. There father has sent them on so many hunting trips since he's disappeared. They usually just found a set of coordinates for a new hunt at the area we just finished one. That and Logan and Ally usually found hunts they're father hadn't. Logan like always, shoved how he really felt down deep inside himself. He had battles to fight, and his father was his commander. If his dad said 'jump', Logan would say 'how high?'.

Logan was about to start heading for the motel when his phone rang. Logan pulled it out of his pocket and looked at it for a moment. Logan never got calls. Only from Bobby and Ally, but this number he didn't recognize. Logan picked up the phone.

"This is....Don Van Halen," Logan said. Logan usually used a rock stars name for cover when he was put on the spot.

"...Hey there kid."

Logan's eyes widened and he was at a loss for words, "....d-dad?"

After a while Allison sat up in bed. "My gosh, what is taking him so long?! He probably went off driving." She mumbled a bit and walked to the door opening it up to the cool night air. A shiver went up her spine as the cold sinked into her body. "Seriously...Hey Iris, I'll be right back." Allison shut the door behind her and tip toed out barefoot down the stairs to parking in front of the motel. In the dark it was hard for her to see where her brother could be since her eyes had to adjust a bit. It was way too dark for a night with stars, she shouldn't have to adjust her eyes she thought.

Iris didn't move or even open her eyes as Ally left the motel room. She was becoming a little accustomed to their brief disappearances. And she didnt blame them. There was no privacy in this cramped motel room, but all the strange conversations and times she found herself alone made it nearly painfully obvious that they were hiding something. Again, she didnt blame them. She was a complete stranger with some weird gift that they were still unsure of. They had no real reason to trust her, and so she never questioned it. She simply let it be.

She curled a little tighter against the cool gust of air that bit at her skin. Already being small, she looked particulary so with her arms wrapped around herself and her knees pulled up.

"Yea, it's me Logan. How're you holdin up kid?" His dad had a gentle voice, with all the strength of the Marine he once was.

"I'm fine, Sir." Logan said to his dad, "Ally and I are both fine."

"Good to hear it. Keep looking out for your little sis. Look Logan, I think I know where this son of a bitch is gonna pop up next. I want you two to meet me there. You understand?"

"Pefectly, Sir."

Allison called out a couple of times for Logan. Her eyes weren't adjusting not that should have had to in the first place. "Hey! Logan! Where are you?" Allison shivered again and it took her another moment to think about the fact that they were in the middle of summer. It shouldn't be that cold even at night. Panic rose up in her as she fumbled for her phone in the back of her pocket. She flipped it open but no light showed up. "It was on full battery..." She dialed a number and sure enough a beep sounded. "Where is that idiot?!"

"Take care of yourself till then." His dad then hung up.

Logan looked up and something didn't feel right. He could see his breath. It was summer. Logan turned fast and unlocked his trunk. Logan pulled out salt and an iron rod. Logan knew that only spirits made the air this cold. And to have this much effect, it was a vengeful spirit.

Iris curled a little tighter into herself. The cold seemed to stay with her. Lingering. Opening her eyes, she glanced up and around the motel. Should the air even be so cold in summer? She remembered again that, she actually didnt know where she was. The climate could be drastically different here. But still, she felt uneasy.

Sitting up on the motel couch, she looked towards the door, where Alley had just, moments ago, walked through. There had been no kind of alarm in her voice, nothing in the sounds of the door opening and closing that had indicated something to be wrong. Laying back against the couch, in the same curled position, she decided it must be the fact that this was a new place. There could be no other reason...

There it was again. That stomach sick feeling. When a wave of emotions over powered her mind. She held back the vomit that wanted to rise up out of her stomach and choked out the words once more. "Logan!" She blinked again and the lighting started to return to normal although the cold feeling didn't leave her. Across from her about five feet away she could see her brother already catching on as he put his phone away. She looked at him curiously. "Who were you talking to?" She shook her head in a never mind way and focused on the problem at hand. "Can you feel it?"

"Yea, we're definately dealing with an angry spirit. It must be anchored to this motel somehow. I guess that's why dad wanted us to come here." Logan seemed a little distant. His mind was racing. His dad was ok and wanted to see them. They would find that yellow-eyed demon together and kill the bastard.

Logan shook his head, "Come on! We need to get back to Iris. I doubt the spirit will attack any of us, but something is making it angry. Perhaps a loop that its reliving over and over. We'll figure it out later. Let's go." Logan grabbed his sister's hand and ran with her back into their motel room.

Allison followed Logan back into the motel and looked at him curiously after he shut the door. "Are we leaving or going? And can we really stay here at the moment with Iris." Allison was now at a point where she could care less about what Allison knew, if this spirit was as angry and daring as it seemed Iris was about to find out everything anyways.

Iris lifted her head from the couch. Something had happened after all. Getting slowly to her feet, she looked across the motel room at them with wide eyes. She was feeling a little frightened. Ally's tone of voice had only encouraged the unease. So many questions circled in her mind now. Going where? Where would she go? Would they really leave her behind?

She bit her lip anxiously, trying desperately to calm herself before she had the chance to reach an all out panic. "W-what?" she stumbled over the one word. It was clear that she was afraid.

Logan looked at Iris and then examined the room. "We're not leaving. We have to put a stop to it first." Logan walked over to the kitchen part of the room and threw the bag of salt to Ally. "Ally make a line of salt in front of the door and on the window sill. And take this." Logan through one of his iron pipes to Ally, who caught it as well.

"Sit back down on the couch Iris." Allison shot her a look of full demand. She didn't know what this spirit wanted and considering she didn't know the full story on Iris's powers she was just as much a suspect as the spirit that was near them. She soothed her words over again. She was a bit stressed at the moment, but she couldn't stand being angry with Iris. She had done nothing wrong.

"I'm sorry, but right now, you are in a position where it would be very unwise for you to move or say anything. I suggest that for the moment you just sit still. Okay?"

Allison turned back to Logan as he threw her a couple of items and she did as he instructed. When she was done she threw the empty cans to the side and looked back at him. "What are you we going to do about her? Should we blindfold her?"

"And what? Keep her that way till its over, take the blindfold off, and say 'fooled you!'?" Logan looked at Iris.

"Look, I promise I'll explain what's going on when its over. But YOU have to promise me you'll do what we say and cooperate." Logan looked directly into Iris's eyes. using his full ability of persuasion. Logan had a very leader like persona.

Iris sat, understanding the emotion very easily. From the way they talked about her, she felt almost like an ignorant child. In truth, they didnt give her much credit, but then who would?

Her knowledge on spirits and demons was very limited. She knew of their existence. She knew they were dangerous. She also knew that Reese seemed to be very interested in them. Other than that, however, she had never paid it much attention. It always made her feel the same way. Uneasy. Aware. Like there was something she needed to look out for. To her, it felt like more than just the feeling of fear any kid would get from a horror story, or a ghost tale. She felt...connected.

She jumped from her thoughts at the sound of Logans voice in her direction. And then, made the mistake of looking up. She came into contact with his eyes again, and felt the same pull she had before. Not necessarily to delve into his mind and uncover every secret as she could with everyone else, but more of a challenge. Almost as if she wouldn't be able to if she tried. Then, she suddenly did want to try. It was a hard emotion to grasp. She didnt understand it. And it was only after he finished talking that she realized he had even started.

Blinking, she nodded quickly, managing the catch the gist of what he had said. "Sure.." she murmered, trying to take advantage of the blink to pull her eyes away.

"I didn't mean blindfold her for our sake of a secret, I was more talking about her. Do you really think that she will be happy to see this? It could give any person nightmares for weeks. You know how I reacted to it when I was younger. I went into traumatic fits of sleep where a few times I even started sleep walking! Fine whatever." She turned to Iris. "It's your choice to watch or not. That's not my responsibility."

"Logan...I'm going to need more than my fists to fight. How about you pick out the weapon of choice tonight."

Normally Allison chose for herself, but she was just a bit anxious to start fighting and it left her in quite a playful mood.

"You're holding it sis." Logan said indicating the iron pipe, "Unless we can find the remains to this thing, it's not going anywhere. Besides I'd rather not unload a sawn off shotgun blast full of salt shells in a populated motel.

Logan glanced around the room for a moment, then smiled. "I remember when you first said you were afraid of the thing in your closet," Logan laughed, "Dad gave you a 45. You were seven." Logan flashed a smile at Ally.

Allison frowned a bit at the iron pipe. It wasn't exactly her choice of weapon, but it would have to do since everything else was in the car. She smiled when her brother brought up her first gun and started bursting out laughing. "I nearly shot your ass with that thing too when you took my Barbie doll and tried to exorcise it!" Allison wiped away a small tear that came from her uncontrollable laughter. "And I might have too if it wasn't for the fact that Dad put dud bullets in the gun." She continued smiling thinking back on those times when they were almost like a normal family besides the demon hunting part. She missed it, but there was nothing she could do about it now.

Logan laughed as well. Even knowing that Iris was watching and probably thinking they were crazy, Logan continued laughing. "Hey, I swear I saw that thing's head turn around by itself. Full on The Excorsist action."

Logan smiled, "Alright, more bonding later. We gotta stop this thing." At that moment, Logan noticed a silouette fly by the window. "Stay here." Logan walked outside over the line of salt. He looked down the balcony that linked each room to another. Logan tightened his grip on the pipe.
